How to Install Driver Genius

Step 1

- Insert your CD into the CD-ROM, run the "Driver_Genius.exe” and follow the installation wizard.

- For your digital copy, use the download link enclosed in the order confirmation email to save the setup file. Download it completely, start the setup file and follow the installation wizard.

NOTE: Run the installation by right-clicking on the setup file and selecting the option “Run as Administrator”.

Step 2

Please proceed by clicking "Next":

Make sure to read the "License Agreement” carefully. Mark the "I accept the agreement" box and proceed by clicking "Next". If you disagree with the agreement, mark " I don’t accept the agreement” and exit the setup.

Step 4

Please type a user name - use your name or email address. Note that the organisation field is optional. Copy the license key you received in the order confirmation email, then paste it into the “Serial number” field and press “Next”:

Select an installation folder for your Driver Genius. We highly recommend you keep the default location: C:\Program Files\Driver-Soft\DriverGenius\

Press "Next" to proceed:

You have the option to select a specific “Start Menu folder” or leave it on the default value (highly recommended). Proceed by clicking “Next”:

Step 7

You are presented with the option on whether to create a Driver Genius shortcut on your desktop or not. Proceed by pressing “Next”:

Step 8

Proceed by pressing "Install":

The installation wizard will download both, the latest version of the software and its database.
If that fails initially, continue with the process. You can always update the database manually later.

Step 9

You have the option to “Launch Driver Genius” by pressing “Finish”.
That action will successfully conclude the installation process.

Step 10

By clicking on the “Start Scan” button, your Driver Genius will begin searching the web for suitable updates for your system drivers. You can also “Check for updates” of your database by selecting the option in the bottom right corner.   

You can browse the options menu by clicking on the cog icon in the upper right corner.

The “Update” section is where you can overview the destination folder for all the new driver updates your Driver Genius downloads. That information is useful in cases when you need to clear its contents or install a specific driver manually.
